Ed Blomstedt was raised in Delaware and graduated from Brown University, later earning an MBA at Drexel University. He enjoyed a management career in several industries, but recently retired and is working on his second book about West Point in fiction.
Ed's interest in West Point began as an asst. scoutmaster in Unionville PA when he organized weekend trips to the Hudson River Valley for Troop 22. On the Volkswalk hike starting at the Hotel Thayer, the cemetery was always a great stop for the boys to lunch and explore, though the fire station across the street seemed equally interesting to the scouts.
A few years later, son Eric expressed an interest in West Point, attended a summer session, and later graduated in 1998 with the top honors in economics and social sciences and an East-West Fellowship at the Univ. of Hawaii. Eric began his career in armor at Camp Casey, Korea, but switched to Signals Intelligence before 9/11, later serving two tours in Iraq. He is currently a lieutennant colonel posted at Ft. Meade, MD.
Ed and wife Mae have two sons and reside in Ambler PA.
